The Legislative Council approved the Appropriation Bill 2026 on 29 April 2026 for implementing the measures as announced in the 2026-27 Budget to provide a one-off extra allowance to households in receipt of Working Family Allowance. Eligible households will receive the extra allowance starting from 22 May 2026. No separate application is required.
