Support Services for Ethnic Minorities

WFAO is committed to providing all possible assistance to needy ethnic minority (EM) households so that they will not be deprived of the opportunity to apply for the Working Family Allowance (WFA).

Leaflets and posters in 7 EM languages (namely, Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Tagalog, Thai and Urdu) are available to introduce the key features of the WFA Scheme to EM households.

EM households may also make reference to the Sample for Completing Application Form translated into 7 EM languages in filling out the Application Form.

In the course of application, EM applicants would be provided with an information sheet on how and where they could seek assistance for language support when we write to ask for supplementary information from them.

For EM households calling our hotline or visiting our office, telephone interpretation service in these EM languages could be arranged free of charge with the assistance of the Centre for Harmony and Enhancement of Ethnic Minority Residents (CHEER). Check out at 2558 3000 or with CHEER.

CHEER is sponsored by the Home Affairs Department (HAD) to provide accessible interpretation and translation services to EM families. Check out the services with the Support Service Centres for Ethnic Minorities funded by HAD.
