The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund was established in 1987 with an aim of encouraging the all-rounded development of the new generation and nurturing future leaders for our society. Over the years, the Fund attaches great importance to the furtherance of education, for we believe that cultivating a well-educated community would be vital for Hong Kong’s sustainable development.
Since its establishment, a great number of students and learners have benefited from the Fund. We offer a spectrum of award and sponsorship schemes to promising students with vision and leadership skills to pursue their dream and fulfil their ambitions by furthering their studies locally or overseas. Similarly, awards are granted to apprentices and working adults with exemplary performance in recognition of their determination, perseverance and commitment of work. It is profoundly rewarding to witness our distinguished awardees emerge as visionary leaders, spearhead transformative initiatives and contribute to the betterment of Hong Kong.
As the Council Chairman, I will collaborate closely with my colleagues on the Council and the Board of Trustees to strive for the ongoing prosperity and success of the Fund. In the years to come, the Fund will continue nurturing our future generations and supporting a wide spectrum of learners to fulfil their aspirations.
