The award scheme, which was set up in 2001, aims at giving recognition and encouragement to young people who seek to pursue their development potential by undertaking a course of technical training and a period of apprenticeship in certain trades under the Apprenticeship Ordinance, Chapter 47 of the Laws of Hong Kong.
For 2021/22, awards are granted to four outstanding apprentices - two at the craft level and two at the technician level who complete their period of apprenticeship at one of these levels.
The value of each award for 2021/22 is HK$5,000.
