Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarships have definitely been an enormous recognition of my endeavor and strong encouragement to me to strive for improvement and pursue my aspirations in my life since I received the first Award in 2009. Moreover, the process of application and selection interviews are valuable experiences, allowing me to believe in and understand more about myself, as the selection panels were keen on asking about our self-reflections and future plans. Through being stimulated by their feedback and encouraging remarks, they undoubtedly boosted my self-confidence, perseverance, and ability to actualise my aspirations and goals. Most importantly, it is my great honour to have the chance to meet Lady Youde at the prize-giving ceremony who always warmly talked to us, cared about our recent updates, and encouraged us to keep up our efforts and performance. There were also invaluable opportunities to meet and talk to the selection panels, the members of the Fund, elites from different backgrounds in society, and all other awardees.

In addition, being a Youder, I am deeply touched by the strong cohesion and sense of belonging among Youders from multifarious academic backgrounds who gather and contribute to the society. In 2013, I am honored to become a member of the steering committee of the SEYSA Disabled Students Group, a platform to build up a network of students with disabilities. The missions are being passed on to each generation of Youders, and the society as a whole.

I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude to the Fund and the selection panels for their genuine support and recognition of my endeavor. I will, for sure, continue to strive for excellence, and also contribute to the society in the future in order to nurture the next generations. Thank you so much!
