It has almost been 20 years since I received the Scholarship for Overseas Studies in 1997.  Being a Youde Scholar means more than a personal recognition. There is a unique sense of privilege, honour and mission we inherited from the late Sir Edward Youde to continue his service and commitment to our beloved Hong Kong. There is a precious connection with the Fund -- as I never forget the encouragement when I received a hand written card from Lady Youde in a cold Chicago winter. There is also a strong feeling of gratefulness we have for the generous support of the Fund's Patrons. Without this scholarship, my college education overseas would not be financially possible.
