Sing Tao Charitable Foundation Students' Loan Fund

History and Aim

  • The Fund has been established since 1964 and aims at assisting, by means of interest-free loans, worthy and needy students to pursue studies recommended by the following tertiary institutions / schools:

    City University of Hong Kong
    Hong Kong Baptist University
    Lingnan University
    The Chinese University of Hong Kong
    The Education University of Hong Kong
    The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
    The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
    The University of Hong Kong
    Hong Kong Shue Yan University
    Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education
    Youth College
    Secondary schools approved by the Education Bureau (Senior Secondary 1 / Secondary 4 - Senior Secondary 3 / Secondary 6 classes)

Eligibility

  • Full-time local students(Note) who are in financial need and are studying at the above schools / post-secondary / tertiary institutions may apply.

    (Note: Applicants of the above post-secondary / tertiary institutions should be students undertaking either publicly-funded or self-financing locally-accredited post-secondary programmes.)

Method of Application

  • Category I: Emergency Loan
    Applicable to students of secondary schools, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and Youth College. Students should apply through their respective schools / institutes / colleges.

  • Category II: Interest-free Loan
    Applicable to full-time students of the other post-secondary / tertiary institutions above. Students should apply through their own Student Affairs Offices.

Application Period

  • Category I: Throughout the year while fund is still available.

  • Category II: Normally from September to November every year. For details, please check with respective Student Affairs Offices.
