Overview

The Student Finance Office administers various financial assistance schemes for needy primary and secondary students, including the School Textbook Assistance (TA) Scheme, the Student Travel Subsidy Scheme and the Subsidy Scheme for Internet Access Charges (SIA). Amount of Financial Assistance

School Textbook Assistance (TA)

  • The 2025/26 TA grant rates for various class levels are as follows :

    Primary 1-6 S1-S3 S4 S5 S6
    Full Grant $ 6,206 $ 6,338 $ 6,328 $ 5,744 $ 3,634
    Half Grant $ 3,103 $ 3,169 $ 3,164 $ 2,872 $ 1,817

  • For the 2026/27 school year, the TA grant rates for various class levels will be announced later.


Student Travel Subsidy

  • The subsidy is calculated on the basis of the average unit fare relevant to the districts in which the student studies and resides during term-time.


Subsidy for Internet Access Charges (SIA)

  • Full rate of subsidy for SIA in the 2025/26 school year is $1,700 per household while the half rate is $850 per household.

  • The rates of subsidy for SIA in the 2026/27 school year will be announced later.
