Overview

The Student Finance Office administers two financial assistance schemes for needy pre-primary students, including the Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Fee Remission Scheme (KCFRS) and the Grant for School-related Expenses for Kindergarten (Grant-KG). Please click here for details of the schemes.

  • The Student Finance Office (SFO) encourages applicants to register and use “iAM Smart+” to digitally sign the Declaration of “Electronic Household Application Form for Student Financial Assistance Schemes” (E-Form). Applicants will not need to print, sign and submit separately the signed Declaration. For more details on the registration of ”iAM Smart+”, please visit the “iAM Smart” website.

2025/26 School Year
Applicable to Continuing Applicants

(i.e. applicants who have successfully applied for financial assistance for pre-primary students in the 2024/25 school year on or before 1 May 2025)

Applicants (i) with child(ren) attending Primary 1 in the 2025/26 school year; or (ii) who have successfully applied for financial assistance for primary and secondary students in the 2024/25 school year, please refer to the Application Processing Timetable applicable for “primary and secondary students” of continuing applicants.

Starting from around mid-May 2025, the SFO will issue Access Code and/ or paper-based pre-filled “Household Application Form for Student Financial Assistance Schemes” (Paper-based Pre-filled Form) to continuing applicants in batches according to their option indicated in the 2024/25 application. Continuing applicants may –

    1. E-submission

      Follow the procedures in “Guide to create ‘eWFSFAA’ account for accessing pre-filled forms” to create and verify an “eWFSFAA” account, and access the E-Form which has been pre-filled with their application details (Pre-filled E-Form) via “eWFSFAA”. Continuing applicants may then complete the Pre-filled E-form, upload relevant supporting documents and submit the application online; or

    2. Complete and submit the Paper-based Pre-filled Form issued by the SFO, together with copies of relevant supporting documents with the return envelope provided by the SFO.

Starting from July 2025, other applicants may –

    1. E-submission

      Create an “eWFSFAA” account, to access, complete and submit an E-Form via “eWFSFAA”; or

    2. Complete and submit the paper-based Household Application Form for Student Financial Assistance Schemes, together with copies of relevant supporting documents, to Tsimshatsui PO Box 96824 by post. The related application form and documents will be uploaded to this webpage later in due course.

2024/25 School Year

Applicants should submit their “Household Application Form for Student Financial Assistance Schemes” for the 2024/25 school year to the SFO before the completion of attending classes of the student-applicants or not later than 15 August 2025, whichever is the earlier. Otherwise, subsidy will generally not be released even if they can pass the means test and meet the eligibility criteria. The effective month of fee remission will be the month in which the application forms are submitted by the applicants, or the month in which the student-applicants are admitted to the kindergartens/child care centres, whichever is the later.
