The Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes (TSFS) provides means-tested financial assistance in the form of grant and/or loan to eligible full-time students taking up an exclusively publicly-funded student place of a recognised post-secondary programme.

  • Recommended Submission Scheule for New students:

    Details of submission arrangement will be announced in August 2024.

  • Applications should be submitted in accordance with the schedule specified above. In any case, applications should reach the Student Finance Office (SFO) no later than 31 December 2024.

  • Late applications beyond 31 December 2024 would only be processed for circumstances that are beyond the control of individual applicants, for instance, commencement dates of their study programmes fall after 31 December 2024 or individual applicants experienced serious financial hardship as a result of drastic change in family‚Äôs financial situation in recent months. For such circumstances, the applicants involved have to provide documentary proofs to substantiate their claims.

  • Under no circumstances will SFO accept 2024/25 applications after 31 March 2025.

  • Applicants who attend a postgraduate programme that commences between March 2024 and February 2025 should apply for financial assistance for the 2024/25 academic year. The deadline for application is one month following the commencement of the programme and in any case not later than 31 March 2025.
