Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS)

Overview

The Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) is to complement the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) to provide loans to eligible students to settle tuition fees of locally-accredited, self-financing full-time programmes at the level of associate degree, higher diploma or degree.

Checklist for Submission

  • The NLSPS application for the 2023/24 academic year is closed. The following information is for reference only. Please refer to "Application Deadline" for details.
  • To complete the online application, please submit the following supporting documents to the Student Finance Office (SFO) -
  • During the online application

  • Within seven days from the date of submission of the application

    • the duly signed “Declaration Form” (if not digitally signed) (Note: The “Declaration Form” could be downloaded from “Step 7” of the online application or from the “Application Form(s) Submitted” page under the “SFO E-link – My Applications” online platform);
    • a copy of Hong Kong Identity (HKID) Card;
    • a copy of course proof for the current academic year: such proof should bear the applicant’s name, student number, institution and course information (Note: Student Identity Card is required for continuing students; payment proof for registration fee or tuition fee issued by the respective institution is acceptable for new students who have not yet received the Student Identity Card); and
    • a copy of bank account proof: such proof should bear the applicant’s name (same as the name shown on the HKID Card) and bank account number, for example, the first page of the bank passbook of the savings account, a bank ATM card or a bank statement issued within the last three months. (Note: The relevant bank account should be a personal savings / current account of the applicants who must be the sole holder of the account. Time deposit account, credit card account, foreign currency account, personal loan account and security / investment account will not be accepted).
