Grantham Scholarships Fund - Grantham Maintenance Grants

History and Aim

The Fund has been established since 1955 and provides maintenance grants to students who are in financial need as assessed under a means test and are pursuing full-time courses at one of the following institutions:

  1. Secondary 4 / Senior Secondary 1 to Secondary 6 / Senior Secondary 3 courses of the secondary day schools approved by the Education Bureau; or
  2. Certain courses of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and Youth College under the auspice of the Vocational Training Council. Please refer to the Guidance Notes on Applications for the eligible courses and course codes.

Eligibility

Full-time students who are in financial need and are studying at the above schools / colleges may apply.

Value of Awards

The value award depends on the amount of funds available and the number of eligible applicants in the year of application.

Method of Application

The Grantham Maintenance Grants is now open for application. The Application Form, Guidance Notes and Annexes can be obtained from the Grantham Scholarships Fund Committee (address: 34/F., Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong) or downloaded from the Student Finance Office’s website. Completed forms should be returned through the Head of school / Department to the Committee on or before 22 September 2017 (Friday) 5:00 pm.

Payment Arrangement

The maintenance grants will be paid after the Grantham Scholarships Fund Committee has decided on the allocation of the grants. This will be remitted by direct transfer of the approved maintenance grants to school's account through the bank and the schools are then requested to disburse the grants to the successful candidates.
